Top Ten ways to help your garden grow during the cooler months
Start seeds indoors:

March is a great time to start seeds indoors, especially for plants like tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants that require a longer growing season.
Clear out debris:

Clear out any debris or dead foliage from last seasons, such as fallen leaves, dead branches, or spent annuals.
Prune:

March is a good time to prune certain trees and shrubs, such as fruit trees, roses, and butterfly bushes.
Soil preparation:

Prepare the soil for planting by adding compost or other organic matter to improve soil fertility and drainage.
Test soil pH:
Test the soil pH to determine if any adjustments need to be made to ensure optimal growing conditions for your plants.
Weed control:

Remove any weeds that have started to emerge to prevent them from competing with your plants for nutrients and water.
Transplant:

Transplant any seedlings that have outgrown their pots and are ready to be moved into the garden.
Mulch:
Mulch the garden with a layer of organic matter, such as straw or shredded leaves, to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
Plan:

Use this time to plan out your garden layout and make a list of the plants you want to grow.
Composting:
Start a compost pile to recycle organic matter from the garden, such as leaves, grass clippings, and vegetable scraps, into rich soil amendment for your plants.
